Optimizing your web pages is not as hard you might think. The hard part comes in knowing how to find the information you need. These steps will assist you.
- Go to Digital Point's Keyword Suggestion Tool.
- Enter your keyword or phrase
- Click "Suggest"
- You will be given a list of potential keyword suggestions
- Open an Excel spreadsheet
- Cut and paste the WordTracker suggestions with the quantity of searches per day into your Excel spreadsheet
- Search for more suggestions by clicking the suggested keyword links
- Repeat Step 5
- Repeat Steps 1 through 6
The higher the number of searches the more competitive the keyword or phrase is. Selecting one of these may be a challenge to start with. Your best bet is to go for the more targeted searches which are actually searched for less often.
Develop as many pages as you can from your list and make certain you link to them in your site's navigation or at least in your site map. This will ensure the search engines find the page and can index it. It would be such a waste to do all this work and then not have your pages indexed because you didn't link to them.
